Certain things are part of every kitchen, such as the refrigerator, the sink, the cabinets, etc. However there are many innovative, highly functional and decorative features that you will want to consider!

Plate rack - a decorative rack, to display plates "standing between dowels"

Window valance - a matching panel, used between wall cabinets across the top of a window

Spice drawers - decorative, small drawers for storing spices, napkin rings, or other small items

Decorative hood fan - for ventilation above stove or cooktop

Decorative panels - used on some large appliances, to match cabinets

Cabinet doors with decorative glass inserts - to display your favorite china

Single, and double pull-out pantries - 'pulls out' like a large drawer, with adjustable chromed wire shelves

Cutting board and knife drawer - solid maple, installed on metal rollers

Sink front tray - a small 'pocket' that opens in front of the sink, and holds sponges, scrubbers, etc.

Recycling basket - available in two, or three bin configurations

Swing-out waste basket - a sturdy, built-in feature

Towel rack - three pull-out drying rods

Cutlery divider insert - also available in a larger, 'double' two level version

Spice tray - a tray that fits into a drawer for holding spices

Roll out drawers - strong larger drawers, great for pots and pans

Lazy susan - rotating shelves; easy access for corner cabinets

Chefs drawers - large drawers, with clear acrylic fronts, for dry foods

Wine rack - useful for storing wine or magazines

Broom closet - a tall cabinet for mops, brooms, pails, vacuum, etc.

Appliance garage - a cabinet with a roll-down, or slide back pocket door, with sufficient height and depth to store a number of small appliances

Pantry shelving - a tall cabinet with many adjustable shelves; sometimes with pull-out drawers on the bottom half

Extension table - a terrific little surface that pulls out from beneath the countertop for projects such as rolling pastry; sometimes used as a breakfast table in a very small kitchen

Upper and lower box shelves - great for cookbooks, or for displaying favorite kitchenware

Food processor shelf - a handy pop-up' storage shelf for any heavy, small appliance

Half-moon lazy susan - epoxy coated wire half-baskets that swing out for easy access, available in various sizes and styles

Microwave cabinet - a built-in shelf, at or below eye level

Ironing board - pulls out, like a drawer, and the board pops up!

Base tray divider - a base cabinet with vertical inserts for the effective storage of trays, etc.

Crown moulding - one of many decorative finishing touches
